E41

Modbus Communication Error

Omron · MX2 Inverter

What does E41 mean?

This fault occurs when a Modbus communication timeout happens, typically when the inverter does not receive data within the period specified by the communication watchdog timer (C077). This often indicates a break in network communication or incorrect settings, causing the inverter to trip if 'trip' is selected as the error behavior (C076=00).

Additional Steps

Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.

  1. 3

Adjust the communication watchdog timer parameter (C077) to allow for expected network delays, or set C076 to 'Ignore' if trips are not desired for communication issues.

  2. 4

Ensure the master device is actively communicating and its address and commands are correct, avoiding duplicate Modbus addresses.

  3. 5

Cycle power to the inverter or use the RS terminal to reset communication parameters if changed (refer to page 297, Note).
