98
TACH LOSS FAULT
Otis · DSD 412 Elevator System
What does 98 mean?
The drive does not detect encoder velocity in proportion to the armature voltage indication of speed. Refer to Function explanations for parameters #14 and #15.
Common Causes
- The encoder is not working.
- Loose connections for the encoder.
- Motor has high resistance, requiring adjustment of parameter #14.
- The contactor feedback circuit at A1TB1-7 closes before the armature power poles, indicating a timing issue.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify that the encoder is working.
- 2
Inspect all encoder connections for tightness.
- 3
Raise the value for parameter #14 if the motor has high resistance.
- 4
Ensure that the contactor feedback circuit at A1TB1-7 closes only after the armature power poles; refer to the timing diagram on page 52.
