Network Status: Partial network fault

Phoenix Contact · FL SWITCH 7000

What does 3 mean?

A localized issue has been detected within a segment of the Device Level Ring (DLR). While the entire ring may still be operational, this indicates that a portion of the network is experiencing a problem, potentially affecting communication for specific nodes.

Common Causes

  • Intermittent connection issues on a specific cable segment or DLR port.
  • A degraded cable segment that experiences high error rates without a complete break.
  • A single device within the ring experiencing a minor fault that doesn't fully disrupt the ring's integrity but degrades performance.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Use the "Verify Fault Location" button on the "DLR Status Information" web page (Figure 4-34) to pinpoint the affected segment by checking the IP addresses of "Last Node Port 1" and "Last Node Port 2".

  2. 2

Inspect all DLR cables and connectors within the identified segment for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or environmental stressors.

  3. 3

Review the diagnostic logs of devices within the affected segment for any specific error messages or port status changes.
