Readback Contact Open or Welded N/O Contact
Phoenix Contact · ib il safe 2-eco
What does 7 mean?
An error in the reset circuit has occurred: either the readback contact of an external actuator is open (external error), or an internal normally open (N/O) contact is welded shut (internal error). This state is present when sensor circuits 1 and 2 are active, the reset/start circuit is activated, and the segment circuit is open. This prevents the reset circuit from operating correctly, thereby compromising machine safety.
Common Causes
- Readback contact of the external actuator in the reset circuit is open
- Internal normally open (N/O) contact is welded shut
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
For external errors: Check the external actuator for proper operation and verify the state of its readback contact
- 2
For internal errors: Perform a power down reset (switch off and then re-apply operating voltage)
- 3
After addressing the error and performing any power down reset, conduct a subsequent function test
