What does OL1 mean?

This fault indicates that the Altivar 212 drive is overloaded, often due to excessively short acceleration times, high DC injection current, incorrect motor control settings, or a rotating load.

Common Causes

  • Acceleration time is too short (ACC or F500).
  • DC injection current level (F251) is too high.
  • Incorrect setting of [Mot cont. mode sel.] (Pt).
  • Drive is starting into a rotating load.
  • Excessive mechanical load is applied to the motor.

    Increase the acceleration time parameters (ACC or F500).

    Reduce the setting of parameters F251 ([DC braking current]) and/or F252 ([DC braking time]).

  3. 3

    Select the correct setting for parameter [Mot cont. mode sel.] (Pt).

  4. 4

    Enable catch on the fly function (F301).

  5. 5

    Set parameter F302 ([Supply loss behav.]) to 2 (Freewheel).
