Starting Time Detected Fault (Too Long Start Time)
Schneider Electric · Altistart 22 Soft Starter
What does StF mean?
The motor's acceleration period exceeded the maximum allowed starting time ('tLS' parameter). This often indicates that the motor is struggling to accelerate, possibly due to excessive load, an undersized soft starter, or incorrect parameter settings.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Inspect the driven mechanism for any issues like wear, mechanical play, lubrication problems, or blockages that could increase starting load.
- 2
Ensure that the 'tLS' (Max start time) parameter is set sufficiently larger than the 'ACC' (Acceleration time) parameter in the 'SEt' menu (page 51).
- 3
Verify the sizing of the soft starter and motor in relation to the mechanical load requirements of the application.
- 4
Check the 'ILt' (Initial Current Limit) value; if it is set too low, the motor may not receive enough torque to accelerate to full speed.
