OLF
Motor Overload
Schneider Electric · ALTIVAR 28 Variable Speed Drive
What does OLF mean?
This fault signifies that the motor's I²t thermal protection has tripped due to a prolonged overload condition, indicating excessive current draw over an extended period. Sustained motor overload will lead to winding insulation breakdown and permanent motor damage.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Review and adjust the motor thermal protection (I²t) settings in the drive controller to accurately match the motor's nameplate data.
- 2
Inspect the mechanical load on the motor and reduce it if it consistently exceeds the motor's continuous rating.
- 3
Allow the motor to cool down to its normal operating temperature before attempting to restart the system.
