tnF

Auto Tuning Fault

Schneider Electric · Altivar 312 Variable Frequency Drive

What does tnF mean?

This fault indicates that the drive's auto-tuning process was unsuccessful, preventing the drive from accurately measuring and optimizing motor parameters. This can occur if motor parameters are incorrectly entered, the process is interrupted, or there are issues with the motor wiring. Without successful auto-tuning, the drive's motor control performance may be suboptimal or lead to operational issues.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Verify that all motor nameplate parameters ([Rated motor volt.] (UnS), [Rated motor freq.] (FrS), [Rated mot. current] (nCr), [Rated motor speed] (nSP), [Motor 1 Cosinus Phi.] (COS)) are correctly configured in the drive.

  2. 2

Ensure no run command is active and the auto-tuning process is not interrupted once initiated.

  3. 3

Check motor wiring and connections for any issues that might prevent accurate measurement during auto-tuning.

  4. 4

If the problem persists, try performing a manual stator resistance measurement and inputting it into the [Cold stator resist.] (rSC) parameter.
