Cyclical Communication Timeout
SEW Eurodrive · [PDF] MOVIMOT® MM..D with AC Motor DT/DV / Operating Instruc
What does 43 mean?
This fault indicates a timeout during cyclical communication via the RS-485 interface, causing the drive to decelerate and stop along the set ramp. A communication timeout means the MOVIMOT unit is not receiving expected data from the RS-485 master within the configured interval (e.g., 1 second).
Common Causes
- Interruption or faulty communication link between the RS-485 master and the MOVIMOT unit.
- Too many slave units connected to the RS-485 master for the configured timeout interval (maximum 8 MOVIMOT inverters for a 1s timeout).
- EMC influence on data lines due to inadequate shielding.
- Incorrect message cycle duration or selection of cyclical message type with prolonged protocol time between messages (longer than 1s).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check and establish the communication link (RS+, RS-, earth) between the RS-485 master and the MOVIMOT unit.
- 2
Check shielding of data lines and improve if necessary to reduce EMC influence.
- 3
Verify the number of slaves connected to the RS-485 master; ensure it does not exceed 8 MOVIMOT inverters if the timeout interval is 1 second.
- 4
Reduce the message cycle time or select 'acyclic' message type if applicable.
