EEPROM checksum error

SEW Eurodrive · Drives

What does 94 mean?

An EEPROM checksum error indicates that the stored data in the EEPROM is corrupted or the EEPROM itself is defective. This prevents reliable operation as critical configuration data cannot be verified.

Common Causes

  • Defective EEPROM component.
  • Data corruption within the EEPROM.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the input supply voltage (L1, L2, L3) at the drive's main terminals for stability and correct levels according to specifications.

  2. 2

Inspect the drive's control board and surrounding components for any visible signs of physical damage, corrosion, or overheating.

  3. 3

Check the integrity of all control wiring, communication cables, and grounding connections for proper shielding and secure termination, ensuring no electromagnetic interference.

  4. 4

Attempt to perform a parameter reset to factory defaults or reload a known good parameter set using the drive's keypad or diagnostic software.
