Lag error
SEW Eurodrive · MOVIDRIVE compact System
What does 42 mean?
The actual position or speed deviates significantly from the commanded value, potentially due to incorrect encoder connection, short acceleration ramps, a small P-component in the positioning controller, incorrect speed controller parameters, or an insufficient lag fault tolerance. This causes an immediate disconnection to prevent further uncontrolled movement.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Check the encoder connection thoroughly for any wiring errors, shorts, or loose connections.
- 2
Extend acceleration/deceleration ramps to allow the motor to follow commands more smoothly and reduce lag.
- 3
Increase the P-component value of the positioning controller to improve responsiveness and reduce deviation.
- 4
Reset or re-tune speed controller parameters if they are incorrectly set or not optimized for the load.
- 5
Increase the lag fault tolerance value if minor deviations are acceptable for the application and do not pose a risk.
