Start condition Immediate disconnection
SEW Eurodrive · MOVIDRIVE compact System
What does 81 mean?
Occurs specifically in 'VFC hoist' operating mode. The motor was unable to draw the correct amount of current during the pre-magnetizing phase of startup. This can be caused by an undersized motor for the inverter's power rating or insufficient cross-section of the motor cables, leading to excessive voltage drop. The inverter immediately disconnects to prevent damage.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Verify the rated motor power against the rated inverter power; ensure the motor is appropriately sized for the inverter.
- 2
Check the cross-section of the motor cables and increase if necessary to minimize voltage drop and ensure adequate current delivery during startup.
- 3
Review and confirm all startup data parameters (e.g., motor data, flux current) are correctly configured and perform a new startup procedure.
- 4
Inspect the physical connections between the inverter and the motor for loose terminals, corrosion, or damage.
