F29

Thermistor fault

Vacon · NXP AFE-II Drive

What does F29 mean?

The thermistor input on the option board has detected an excessively high motor temperature. This fault can be caused by motor overheating or a broken thermistor cable. Continued operation with an overheated motor can lead to winding damage.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Check the motor's cooling system (fans, fins) and assess the motor load for any excessive conditions.

  2. 2

Inspect the thermistor connection and cable for breaks or loose terminals. If the thermistor input on the option board is not actively used, ensure it is properly short-circuited.
