MOL Contact Fault

Vacon · X4 AC Drive

What does 7 mean?

This fault occurs when the Motor Overload (MOL) digital input is activated, indicating an overload condition detected externally or a misconfiguration of the input logic. The MOL input acts as a safety interlock to protect the motor from damage due to excessive thermal or current loading.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Identify and clear the condition that caused the MOL contact to activate (e.g., motor overload, tripped thermal switch, mechanical jam).

  2. 2

Verify the pull-up or pull-down logic configuration for the MOL digital input is correct according to the wiring and sensor type used.

  3. 3

Reset the MOL contact after resolving the triggering condition.
