Modbus Slave TCP Start Failed
Wago · PFC200 PLC
What does 0x00090003 mean?
The MODBUS slave failed to start successfully in TCP mode. This diagnostic message is permanently stored and indicates a configuration error, network issue, or resource conflict preventing the TCP server from initializing. This will prevent MODBUS TCP communication.
Common Causes
- Incorrect MODBUS slave TCP configuration settings within the WBM client
- TCP port conflict with another application or service running on the controller
- Network interface card (NIC) issues preventing TCP binding on the controller
- Insufficient system resources for MODBUS slave TCP operation
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the MODBUS slave TCP configuration settings using the WBM client.
- 2
Check for other applications or services using the same TCP port as the MODBUS slave.
- 3
Ensure the controller's network interface is active and properly configured for TCP/IP communication.
- 4
Review controller system logs for more detailed network or resource errors related to the failure.
