DEV

Excessive Speed Deviation

Yaskawa · F7 Drive

What does DEV mean?

This fault occurs in Flux Vector control (A1-02=3) when the actual motor speed deviates from the reference speed by more than the F1-10 setting for longer than the F1-11 time. It often indicates a locked load or an inability for the motor to follow its command. Unresolved, this can lead to poor process control, mechanical stress on the system, or motor overheating due to sustained effort.

Additional Steps

Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.

  1. 3

Physically check the mechanical system for any binding, jamming, or issues with the motor brake system to ensure free movement.

  2. 4

Review and adjust parameters F1-10 (Speed Deviation Detection Level) and F1-11 (Speed Deviation Detection Time) to better suit the application's dynamics.

  3. 5

Inspect encoder wiring for proper connection and integrity, and verify all encoder-related parameters in the F1 group are correctly configured.
