EF3

External Fault at Terminal S3

Yaskawa · F7 Drive

What does EF3 mean?

This fault is triggered when an external condition connected to multi-function digital input terminal S3 activates the Drive's external fault function. The Drive will stop according to its programmed response (ramp, coast, or fast stop). This indicates an issue with the external device or process monitored by S3, potentially leading to unsafe operation if misconfigured.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Identify and eliminate the root cause of the external fault condition that is connected to terminal S3.

  2. 2

Verify the wiring and functionality of the external device (e.g., limit switch, safety sensor) connected to terminal S3.

  3. 3

Check parameter settings for the multi-function digital input H1-01 to ensure it is correctly configured for external fault detection.
