Overtorque Detection 1
Yaskawa · P1000 AC Drive
What does oL3 mean?
The drive detected that the motor torque has exceeded a preset overtorque threshold. This indicates a mechanical issue, excessive load, or incorrect parameter settings.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify Yaskawa P1000 parameters L7-01 (Current Limit Setting), E1-01 (Motor Rated Current), E2-01 (Motor Overload Protection Level), and acceleration/deceleration times (C1-xx) against motor nameplate data and application requirements.
- 2
Inspect the mechanical system for binding, obstructions, excessive friction, or seized bearings in the motor and driven equipment.
- 3
Check all motor power cable connections at both the drive and motor terminals for tightness and integrity.
- 4
Measure the motor winding resistance between phases (U-V, V-W, W-U) and compare for balance; perform an insulation resistance test to ground if possible.
