Event Generation Failed
Allen-Bradley · Logix 5000 Advanced Process Control and Drives
What does 48 mean?
The command (SCLF, SCMD, or SOVR) was executed, but it was not possible to generate an event to record the command. This code only appears if event generation has been enabled in the Equipment Sequence Properties - Configuration tab. An ABORT command will still execute even if the event record fails.
Common Causes
- Event processing buffers are full or overloaded, preventing new events from being recorded.
- Event generation is enabled in the Equipment Sequence Properties, but a system issue prevented the event creation.
- Excessive command requests are flooding event processing buffers, causing missed events.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Review the Equipment Sequence Properties - Configuration tab to verify if event generation is enabled and configured correctly.
- 2
Monitor the event processing buffers for capacity issues and potential overflows.
- 3
Reduce the frequency of event generation or command requests if buffers are consistently overloaded.
