Motor overtemp. prewarning
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive C Drive Controllers
What does E2051 mean?
This is a prewarning indicating that the motor temperature has reached an elevated level, approaching its thermal limits. Continued operation at this temperature could lead to motor damage or a full shutdown.
Common Causes
- Motor running at excessive load for extended periods.
- Inadequate motor cooling due to blocked vents, fan failure, or high ambient temperature.
- Incorrect motor parameters configured in the drive, leading to improper current control.
- Faulty motor temperature sensor or wiring.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the mechanical load on the motor and ensure it is within specified limits for continuous operation.
- 2
Verify the motor's cooling system (fans, fins) is clean and functioning correctly. Ensure adequate airflow around the motor.
- 3
Inspect motor cabling and connections for damage or loose terminals that could cause increased resistance and heat.
- 4
Review drive parameters related to motor thermal model and current limits. Compare with motor nameplate data.
- 5
Monitor the motor temperature using external means if possible, and compare with the drive's reported temperature to verify sensor accuracy.
