RL The motor type has changed
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive MPx02
What does F2008 mean?
This non-fatal error on the IndraDrive MPx02 indicates that the motor type connected to the drive has changed, or the drive has detected a discrepancy between the configured motor type and the actual motor connected. This often happens after a motor replacement or if motor data parameters are mismatched.
Common Causes
- Physical replacement of the motor with a different type without updating drive parameters.
- Incorrect motor type selection or parameterization in the IndraDrive MPx02 (e.g., P-0-0000, P-0-0001).
- Motor encoder feedback mismatching the expected motor configuration.
- Drive's internal auto-detection mechanism indicating a motor type change.
- Corrupted motor parameter data in the IndraDrive MPx02 memory.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the actual motor type and compare it against the motor parameters configured in the IndraDrive MPx02 (e.g., P-0-0000 'Motor type', P-0-0001 'Motor IDN').
- 2
If the motor has been replaced, update the motor parameters in the IndraDrive MPx02 to match the new motor's nameplate data.
- 3
Ensure the motor encoder is correctly connected and providing valid feedback that is consistent with the motor type.
- 4
Perform a motor identification or auto-tuning procedure to allow the drive to recognize and adapt to the connected motor.
- 5
Reload the last known good parameter set for the motor, or manually re-enter all motor data from the nameplate.
