Motor overtemperature shutdown
Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive MPx02
What does F2019 mean?
This non-fatal error indicates that the motor connected to the IndraDrive MPx02 has reached an unsafe operating temperature, triggering a protective shutdown. This prevents damage to the motor windings and insulation, ensuring motor longevity.
Common Causes
- Motor overloaded, drawing excessive current and generating heat.
- Insufficient cooling for the motor (e.g., blocked fan, dirty fins, high ambient temperature).
- Motor cable resistance too high, causing voltage drop and additional heating.
- Incorrect motor thermal model parameters in the IndraDrive MPx02 (e.g., P-0-0402).
- Faulty motor temperature sensor (e.g., PTC, KTY) or its wiring.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the motor loading conditions and reduce the mechanical load if it exceeds the motor's continuous rating.
- 2
Check the motor's cooling system, including its fan, fan cover, and cooling fins, ensuring they are clean and unobstructed.
- 3
Measure the current drawn by the motor during operation and compare it to the motor's nameplate Full Load Amps (FLA).
- 4
Inspect the motor temperature sensor wiring for damage, loose connections, or incorrect termination at the IndraDrive MPx02.
- 5
Check IndraDrive MPx02 parameters related to motor thermal monitoring (e.g., P-0-0402 'Motor overtemperature threshold') and adjust if necessary, ensuring they match the motor's characteristics.
