F2176

Loss of measuring encoder reference

Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive MPx02

What does F2176 mean?

The drive has lost the reference signal from the measuring encoder. This encoder is often used for high-precision position measurement, distinct from the motor's primary encoder. Loss of its reference means the system cannot accurately track or control the position of the monitored component, impacting measurement and control accuracy.

Common Causes

  • Damaged measuring encoder cable or connector
  • Defective measuring encoder hardware
  • Severe electrical noise interfering with measuring encoder signals
  • Loose measuring encoder mounting
  • Incorrect parameter configuration for the measuring encoder

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the measuring encoder cable for any signs of physical damage, cuts, or crushed sections, and ensure all connectors are securely fastened at both the encoder and the drive.

  2. 2

Verify the supply voltage provided to the measuring encoder against the specified voltage in the encoder's datasheet or the drive's wiring diagram.

  3. 3

Check the shielding and grounding of the measuring encoder cable for proper termination and continuity to minimize electromagnetic interference.

  4. 4

Verify the drive parameters configured for the measuring encoder, such as encoder type, resolution, and scaling, match the installed hardware and application requirements.
