F2816

Softstart fault power supply unit

Bosch Rexroth · IndraDrive Troubleshooting

What does F2816 mean?

During the soft start process, which involves loading the DC bus capacitance, the DC bus voltage curve is monitored. Significant deviations from the expected curve suggest a defect in the power section of the HMV01 supply unit. This fault indicates a problem specifically during the initial power-up sequence.

Common Causes

  • Short circuit in DC bus.
  • Load on DC bus (e.g., external braking resistor incorrectly connected).
  • Insulation error in DC bus wiring or within the device/other connected devices.
  • Final DC bus voltage not reached within a maximum time.
  • Inadmissible voltage fluctuations or drop in supply mains during soft start.
  • Device defective.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check DC bus wiring for short circuits and remove any found.

  2. 2

Check DC bus wiring for load; verify correct connection of any external braking resistor.

  3. 3

Check DC bus wiring for insulation errors; if wiring is correct, systematically remove connected devices from the drive system step by step to identify the defective device.

  4. 4

Check for defects at loads externally connected to the DC bus.

  5. 5

Check mains voltage for inadmissibly dropped values during soft start.

  6. 6

    Replace the device.
