An overvoltage condition has been detected on an Analog Input (AI) of an I/O module. The AI automatically switches to voltage mode from mA mode as a protective measure. If the high signal level persists, it could damage the input circuit or lead to inaccurate process feedback.
Click steps to track your progress.
Immediately disconnect the signal source from the affected Analog Input terminal (e.g., AI1 or AI2) on the I/O module.
Measure the voltage of the signal source that was connected to the AI terminal using a multimeter to confirm it is within the module's specified input range.
Verify parameter settings for the analog input (e.g., P3-01 to P3-04) match the expected signal type (voltage or current) and range.
Inspect external wiring for shorts to higher voltage sources or incorrect connections to the I/O module terminals.
If the fault persists after disconnecting the signal source, replace the I/O module as its internal AI circuit may be damaged.
