The drive's built-in or extension I/O module is not detected or improperly connected. This configuration failure can lead to loss of control, inability to read inputs, or activate outputs, rendering the drive's control functions inoperable.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Power down the drive and lock out. Carefully re-seat all installed extension I/O modules into their respective slots, ensuring full contact.
2. Inspect the I/O module's connector pins and the drive's module slot for any visible damage, bent pins, or foreign objects.
3. Check the drive's parameter settings related to I/O module configuration (e.g., P30.xx for slot mapping, P32.xx for digital input configuration) to ensure they match the physical hardware.
4. If multiple I/O modules are present, try removing one at a time (power cycled between removals) to isolate a potentially faulty module.
5. Measure the voltage on the I/O module's power supply pins (if accessible and safe to do so) to confirm it is receiving power from the drive's internal bus (e.g., 5VDC or 3.3VDC).
6. Perform a factory reset of I/O parameters (if available and appropriate for the system) and then reconfigure them according to the installed hardware.
