Encoder Phase A/B Swapped

ABB · ACS800 Standard Firmware

What does 7302 mean?

The pulse encoder phasing is incorrect, specifically Phase A is connected to the terminal for Phase B and vice versa. This will result in incorrect speed or position feedback, potentially causing motor rotation direction issues or control instability.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect wiring of encoder phase signals A and B.
  • Encoder signals A and B are reversed in the control unit configuration (P3-01, P3-02).
  • Faulty encoder sensor generating swapped phase signals.
  • Improper installation or setup of the encoder feedback.

Repair Steps & Checklist
