MOTOR PHASE

What does FF56 mean?

One of the motor phases has been lost, indicating a fault within the motor, the motor cable, an external thermal relay (if used), or an internal drive fault. This fault is associated with bit 15 of Fault Word 2 (3.06 FW 2) and can be configured via Fault Function 30.16.

Common Causes

  • Fault detected in one or more phases of the motor power supply.
  • Loose or broken motor connection.
  • Internal motor winding issue.
  • Inverter output phase failure.

    Inspect the motor and motor cable for physical damage, loose connections, or signs of overheating.

    If a thermal relay is used, check its trip status and ensure it is functioning correctly.

    Verify the setting of parameter 30.16 (Motor Phase Loss function).

    As a diagnostic step, temporarily disable the `Motor Phase Loss` protection in parameter 30.16 if troubleshooting demands it.
