7082

Ext I/O comm loss

ACS880 · Spinning and Traverse Control Program Firmware

What does 7082 mean?

Communication with an I/O extension module has failed, or the module types specified by parameters do not match the detected configuration. The auxiliary code (format XXYY YYYY) provides details: 'XX' specifies the I/O extension module number (01 for parameter group 14, 02 for 15, 03 for 16), and 'YY YYYY' indicates the problem (00 0001: Communication with module failed).

Common Causes

  • The I/O extension module is not properly seated in its slot, resulting in a loss of communication.
  • The I/O extension module itself is physically damaged, faulty, or has failed internally.
  • The drive's I/O extension slot connector is damaged or has bent pins.
  • The module type specified in parameters (e.g., in parameter group 14) does not match the actual detected module hardware.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the auxiliary code (XXYY YYYY) to identify the specific I/O extension module (e.g., '01' indicates module 1, configured in parameter group 14).

  2. 2

Power down the drive and ensure the identified I/O extension module is securely seated in its slot.

  3. 3

Inspect the module and its slot connector for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or bent pins.

  4. 4

If multiple I/O extension slots are available, try installing the module into a different slot to help determine if the module or the slot is faulty.

  5. 5

Verify that the module type configured in the relevant parameter group (14, 15, or 16) matches the actual installed I/O extension module.

  6. 6

If communication failure persists after physical checks and parameter verification, replace the suspected faulty I/O extension module.
