ACS880 · Spinning and Traverse Control Program Firmware
The temperature of the brake resistor has exceeded the warning limit defined by parameter 43.12 (Brake resistor warning limit). This indicates that the brake resistor is undergoing excessive thermal stress due to continuous or heavy regenerative braking cycles, or insufficient cooling.
Click steps to track your progress.
Stop the drive and allow the brake resistor to cool down completely to ambient temperature.
Verify the dimensioning of the brake resistor against the application's actual braking energy and duty cycle. Ensure it is not undersized.
Inspect the area around the brake resistor for any obstructions to airflow and ensure adequate ventilation for cooling.
Review parameter 43.12 (Brake resistor warning limit) and adjust its value if it is determined to be set too conservatively for the application.
Check the settings in parameter group 43 (Brake chopper) to ensure proper configuration of the resistor overload protection function.
