Signals from the measuring encoder are intermittent, noisy, or outside expected parameters, indicating a communication issue or a faulty encoder. This can lead to inaccurate position/velocity feedback and control instability, especially in systems with direct measurement feedback.
Click steps to track your progress.
Inspect the cabling for the measuring encoder for physical damage, proper shielding, and secure connections at both the encoder and the drive.
Check for sources of electrical noise near the encoder cable, such as power cables, contactors, or VFDs, and ensure proper separation and grounding.
Verify the measuring encoder's power supply voltage at the encoder terminals.
If possible, perform an encoder diagnostic test through the drive's interface to check signal integrity. Consider replacing the measuring encoder if signals remain disturbed.
