Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive High Power
The 1.8V DC supply on the control card, crucial for its internal logic, has dropped below its allowable limits. This low voltage indicates a potential fault on the control card itself or an overload caused by an option card, leading to unstable operation or complete control card failure.
Click steps to track your progress.
Disconnect main power supply to the frequency converter at the upstream breaker. Verify zero voltage.
Visually inspect the control card for any signs of burnt components, discoloration, or bulging capacitors, particularly near voltage regulators.
If accessible, measure the 1.8VDC supply at designated test points on the control card (use caution with live circuits).
Verify the input voltage to the 1.8VDC regulator on the control card is within its specified range (e.g., 3.3VDC or 5VDC).
Ensure the control card is properly seated in its slot and all connectors are secure.
If no external cause is identified and the 1.8VDC supply remains low, the control card itself is likely faulty and requires replacement.
