Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive High Power
The connected motor is too large for the Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA) function to operate successfully with the current drive sizing or parameter limits. This means the drive cannot accurately identify the motor's characteristics, leading to an inability to optimize control.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Verify the frequency converter's rated output current (from nameplate) against the motor's nominal current (P1-24).
2. Confirm the motor's power rating (P1-22) is within the drive's specified maximum motor power range.
3. If safe, temporarily reduce Parameter P1-24 (Motor Current) slightly and retry AMA (only if motor is marginally oversized).
4. Measure motor winding resistance to ensure it is within expected values for a motor of its rated power and voltage.
5. If the motor is genuinely too large, replace the drive with one that has adequate power and current ratings.
