Danfoss · VLT HVAC Drive High Power
The combination of the current load and motor speed demands a motor voltage higher than the actual DC-link voltage available in the frequency converter. This indicates that the drive cannot supply the necessary voltage for the commanded operation, potentially due to a low DC-link, excessive load, or too high a speed command for the input voltage.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Measure the incoming AC line voltage (L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L1) at the drive's input terminals using a multimeter during operation.
2. Monitor the DC-link voltage in the drive's display (e.g., P16-01) during operation and compare to its nominal value.
3. Reduce the motor load or commanded speed temporarily to see if the fault clears, indicating an overload.
4. Verify Parameter P14-00 (Mains Voltage) matches the actual incoming AC line voltage (e.g., 400V, 480V).
5. Inspect drive's input rectifier and DC-link capacitors for visual signs of damage (e.g., bulging, leakage).
6. If regenerative energy is a factor, extend Parameter P2-11 (Deceleration Ramp 1) or install a braking resistor.
