What does 1030 mean?

This status code, indicated by a flashing red operating LED on the Fronius Primo GEN24 inverter, signifies that a device within the Wired Shutdown (WSD) chain has interrupted the signal line. This can occur if a surge protection device (SPD) has tripped, the factory-installed bypass has been removed, or a trigger device is not properly installed.

Common Causes

  • A device connected in the WSD chain (e.g., surge protection device) has interrupted the signal line.
  • The bypass device pre-installed at the factory has been removed.
  • No trigger device has been installed in the WSD chain.
  • The SPD surge protection device has tripped, causing the signal interruption.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If an SPD surge protection device has tripped, the inverter must be repaired by an authorized specialist.

  2. 2

Install the bypass device that was originally installed ex works, or install a new trigger device into the WSD chain.

  3. 3

Turn the WSD (wired shutdown) switch to position 1 to configure the inverter as the WSD primary device.

  4. 4

Ensure all installation and connection of an SPD surge protection device is carried out by Fronius-trained service personnel, strictly adhering to technical specifications and safety rules.
