KUKA KRC4 · Robot Controller
Detection of a failure in one or more motor phases connected to the KPP/KSP axis drive in the KUKA KR C4/KR C4 CK controller. This indicates an open circuit, short circuit, or high resistance in the motor power path, leading to uncontrolled motor movement or inability to operate the axis.
Click steps to track your progress.
Perform a visual inspection of the motor cable for physical damage, proper connection, and secure termination at both the motor and KPP/KSP ends.
Using a multimeter, measure the resistance between motor phases (U-V, V-W, U-W) and from each phase to ground. Compare readings against motor specifications (expect balanced phase resistances and high resistance to ground).
Check motor windings for short circuits or ground faults using an insulation resistance tester (megger) if appropriate.
Perform a power cycle (Power Off / Power On) of the KR C4/KR C4 CK controller to reinitialize the drive bus.
Inspect the KSP module for any visible damage or warning indicators.
