26034

Overcurrent, KPP/KSP (axis)

Kuka · KR C4 Operating Instructions

What does 26034 mean?

A fault has briefly resulted in an overcurrent that exceeds the maximum current rating of the KPP, such as a short-circuit. This indicates an immediate and severe current surge within the motor circuit, potentially causing component damage.

Common Causes

  • Excessive current detected in the KPP/KSP drive output stage.
  • Motor is drawing more current than the drive can supply.
  • Short circuit in the motor, motor cable, or drive output.
  • Mechanical binding or jamming of the axis.
  • Overload condition during acceleration or deceleration.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Review the trace recording of the axis/current to pinpoint the exact timing and magnitude of the overcurrent event.

  2. 2

Check the motor for any short circuits, winding damage, or mechanical binding causing excessive current draw.

  3. 3

Check the motor cable for shorts between phases or to ground using a multimeter.

  4. 4

Reinitialize the drive bus by performing a Power Off / Power On cycle of the entire system.

  5. 5

Check the KSP module for diagnostic indicators related to overcurrent protection.

  6. 6

Check the KPP module for diagnostic indicators related to overcurrent protection.
