This fault indicates a problem with the resolver feedback device, which provides position and speed information to the drive. This could be due to wiring issues, a faulty resolver, or mechanical damage. By default, this critical condition triggers a full TRIP, inhibiting all ignition pulses and resetting the Ready signal, as precise resolver feedback is crucial for motor control. Manual reset is required.
Click steps to track your progress.
Power off the drive and disconnect the resolver cable at the drive's resolver input (e.g., terminal X6).
Measure winding resistance for both the primary (excitation) and secondary (feedback) windings of the resolver using a multimeter. Compare values to manufacturer specifications.
Check continuity of all conductors and shield within the resolver cable from the resolver to drive terminal X6.
Verify resolver excitation voltage and frequency from the drive (e.g., using an oscilloscope on R1/R2 terminals) when power is applied.
Inspect the resolver for physical damage, shaft play, or signs of overheating on the resolver housing.
