System Fault (Interference)

Lenze · 8200 Series

What does ccr mean?

A general system fault has occurred, likely due to strong electromagnetic interference on control cables or the presence of earth loops in the wiring. Such interference can lead to unreliable control signals, erratic operation, and potential system instability.

Common Causes

  • Strong electromagnetic interference (EMI) on control cables due to close proximity to power cables or unshielded routes.
  • Presence of earth loops in the wiring due to multiple grounding points or improper grounding strategy.
  • Control cable shielding not properly terminated at both the drive and control source.
  • Poor grounding connection of the drive frame or associated equipment.
  • Damaged control cables (e.g., broken shielding, insulation damage) allowing noise ingress.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Verify that all control cables are properly shielded and that the shielding is securely terminated at both the drive's shielding clamp and the control signal source.

  2. 2

    2. Ensure power cables and control cables are routed in separate conduits or trays with adequate separation (minimum 30cm).

  3. 3

    3. Check all grounding connections for the drive, motor, and control equipment to ensure a single-point grounding scheme.

  4. 4

    4. Inspect control cables for any physical damage to insulation or shielding.

  5. 5

    5. Consider installing common mode chokes or ferrite rings on control cables that are particularly susceptible to noise.
