The controller is experiencing frequent or prolonged overload periods during steady-state operation, indicating the drive is undersized for the continuous load. Continuous operation beyond the drive's rated capacity will lead to overheating and significantly reduce its lifespan, potentially causing premature failure.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Monitor the actual motor current (e.g., via display parameter C0004) during steady-state operation and compare it to the drive's nominal output current.
2. Verify that the drive's continuous current rating and nominal power are appropriate for the application's continuous load requirements.
3. Check the setting of current limit parameters (e.g., P1-54, P1-55) to ensure they are within the drive's safe operating envelope.
4. Investigate the mechanical system for sources of increased load such as worn gears, seized bearings, or binding components.
5. Consider oversizing the drive if the application load cannot be reduced.
