Lenze · 8200 Series
The motor has exceeded its thermal overload limit (I²t model), caused by excessive continuous current or frequent/prolonged acceleration cycles. This indicates the motor is either undersized for the application, or the drive parameters are not correctly configured. Continued operation under overload conditions will severely damage the motor windings.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Monitor the motor current (e.g., via display parameter C0004) during operation and compare it to the motor's nameplate nominal current.
2. Verify that the motor's nominal power and current ratings are sufficient for the application's mechanical load.
3. Check the motor thermal protection parameters (e.g., P1-60, P1-61) in the drive and ensure they match the motor's characteristics.
4. Inspect the motor's cooling fins and fan for obstructions and ensure proper airflow around the motor.
5. Measure the motor winding temperature directly if possible, or motor case temperature.
