This fault indicates that the controller has attempted and failed to perform more than eight automatic TRIP resets within a 10-minute period. It signifies a persistent underlying fault condition that repeatedly triggers and attempts to reset, but the root cause is not being resolved. Ignoring this means an underlying problem is not being addressed, leading to repeated shutdowns and potential drive wear.
Click steps to track your progress.
Identify the primary fault code that is repeatedly triggering the auto-reset (check fault history log, e.g., P7-01).
Measure motor phase currents (L1, L2, L3) during operation to detect overcurrent conditions compared to nameplate ratings.
Inspect motor and load for mechanical binding, worn bearings, or physical obstructions causing increased torque demand.
Verify motor insulation resistance using a megohmmeter (e.g., 500VDC test voltage) for phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground integrity.
Adjust relevant trip parameters (e.g., P6-01 for overload trip level) or increase acceleration/deceleration times (e.g., P3-01) if applicable.
Perform a motor autotune function (e.g., Parameter P5-02 = 1) to optimize motor control parameters for the connected load.
