A wire breakage has been detected on analog input 2. If this input is configured for a 4-20 mA range, it means the current is below 4 mA, indicating an open circuit in the analog signal path. Loss of this input can lead to incorrect operation or functionality if this input is critical for control.
Click steps to track your progress.
Using a multimeter set to mA range, measure the current flowing into controller terminals AI2+ and AI2-.
Perform a continuity test on the entire 4-20 mA signal cable run from the sensor to controller terminals AI2+ and AI2-.
Verify the power supply to the 4-20 mA sensor itself, ensuring it is within its specified operating voltage (e.g., 24VDC).
Confirm Analog Input 2 configuration parameter (e.g., Parameter A1-02) is correctly set to 'Current Input' or '4-20mA'.
Check for secure connections and no visible damage at the screw terminals for Analog Input 2 on the controller.
If possible, substitute the field sensor with a known good 4-20 mA signal generator to test the controller's input response.
