This fault indicates issues with the brake output, such as no brake connected, a disconnected brake cable when the brake is commanded 'ON', or an overload condition due to excessive current or frequent operation. This can lead to uncontrolled loads, mechanical damage, or safety hazards if the brake fails to engage or disengage correctly.
Click steps to track your progress.
Measure the resistance of the motor brake coil directly at the drive's brake output terminals (e.g., TB1/B+ B-) and compare to motor nameplate data.
Check for continuity of the brake cable wires from the drive's output terminals to the brake's connection point (0 Ohms).
Verify the brake current limit (P1-60) is set correctly based on the motor brake's rated current (e.g., from motor datasheet).
Monitor the actual brake current (e.g., P1-62) during a brake release command to detect overcurrent conditions.
Inspect the mechanical state of the brake for binding, foreign objects, or excessive wear preventing release.
