E.LUP

Upper limit fault

Mitsubishi Electric · Mitsubishi FR-E800 Variable Frequency Drive

¿Qué significa E.LUP ?

The inverter output is shut off when the load on the motor exceeds the defined upper limit fault detection range. This is a protective function to prevent damage from excessive loading, active only when Pr.1490 is not set to '9999'.

Causas comunes

  • Mechanical jamming or obstruction of the driven equipment, leading to excessive motor current.
  • Motor bearing seizure or other internal mechanical failure increasing friction.
  • Incorrect setting of Pr.1487 (Load fault detection function selection) and Pr.1488 (Upper limit warning detection width) for the application.
  • Overloading of the machine with product or material beyond its design capacity.
  • Inaccurate motor parameter settings (e.g., Pr.9 Rated current) causing miscalculation of load.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Check Pr.1487 (Load fault detection function selection) to ensure it is set to '1' for upper limit detection.

  2. 2

Monitor the motor current (e.g., Pr.205 Output current) during operation to identify the actual current at which the fault occurs.

  3. 3

Inspect the mechanical system (e.g., gearbox, conveyor, pump impeller) for any binding, blockage, or damage.

  4. 4

Adjust Pr.1488 (Upper limit warning detection width) to a slightly higher value if the observed peak load is within safe motor operating limits.

  5. 5

Use an clamp-on ammeter to verify actual motor phase currents (e.g., at terminals U, V, W) and compare them to the inverter's display.
