Over-current of Charge Current (ECM)
Fanuc · Alpha i Series AC Servo Motor and Spindle
What does 3 mean?
An over-current condition has occurred in the charge current path to the Capacitor Modules of the ECM. This suggests an issue with the charging circuit or a fault in the capacitor modules themselves.
Common Causes
- Excessive current flowing into the battery or DC bus during charging.
- Battery internal resistance is too high, limiting charge acceptance.
- Faulty charging circuit or power supply unit.
- Incorrect battery charging parameters configured (e.g., P5-xx).
- External voltage source exceeding battery's maximum charge voltage.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Inspect the wiring and connections to the Capacitor Modules.
- 2
Verify the operation of the ECM's control module, especially its charging circuit.
- 3
Check the Capacitor Modules for any signs of damage or overheating.
