Over-voltage of DC Link (ECM)
Fanuc · Alpha i Series AC Servo Motor and Spindle
What does 6 mean?
The DC link voltage in the servo amplifier system has exceeded the upper threshold. This can be caused by excessive regenerative energy not being dissipated or an issue with the power supply.
Common Causes
- The voltage across the DC link capacitors exceeds the safe operating limit.
- Regenerative braking energy is too high and not being dissipated effectively.
- Over-voltage condition from the AC input power source.
- Faulty DC link capacitors or related circuitry.
- Incorrect parameter settings for DC link voltage limits (e.g., P6-01).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Measure the DC link voltage at the servo amplifier.
- 2
Verify the proper operation of the regenerative discharge unit and its connections.
- 3
Check the input power supply voltage for overvoltage conditions.
