SP0140
Count Error Alarm
Fanuc · Alpha i Series AC Servo Motor and Spindle
What does SP0140 mean?
The number of pulses between one phase Z and another (e.g., phase A/B) is shifted by 4λ or more. This indicates a significant discrepancy in the encoder feedback signals, affecting accurate position tracking.
Common Causes
- Accumulated count value from a sensor or counter has exceeded its maximum limit.
- Hardware or software error in the counting mechanism.
- External reset or interference causing the count to be lost or corrupted.
- Incorrect configuration of counter parameters or scaling.
- Rapid pulses or events overwhelming the counting capacity.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the wiring and shielding of the pulsecoder feedback cables (e.g., K16/K97) for loose connections or damage.
- 2
Verify the correct phasing and amplitude of the A, B, and Z signals from the pulsecoder using an oscilloscope.
- 3
Inspect the pulsecoder for any physical damage or contamination on the sensor ring that could disrupt pulse counting.
