E

Abnormal Charge of Capacitor Module (ECM)

Fanuc · Alpha i Series AC Servo Motor and Spindle

What does E mean?

The Capacitor Modules are not charging as expected. This indicates a problem with the charging process or a fault within the capacitor modules preventing them from holding charge.

Common Causes

  • Abnormalities detected during the charging process of the capacitor module.
  • Faulty charging circuit or control logic within the ECM.
  • Capacitor module has developed internal shorts or leakage.
  • Inconsistent charging current or voltage readings from sensors.
  • Parameters related to capacitor charging (e.g., P5-xx) are incorrectly configured.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the power supply connections to the Capacitor Modules.

  2. 2

Verify the functionality of the charging circuit within the ECM control module.

  3. 3

Inspect the Capacitor Modules for physical damage or internal failure.
