0243

Position Pulse Count Exceeded

Fanuc · Alpha i Series Servo Amplifier

What does 0243 mean?

This invalid parameter setting alarm occurs when initialization bit 0 is set to 1, and the number of position pulses configured exceeds the maximum allowable value of 13100. This indicates an incorrect setup for position feedback, potentially leading to calculation overflows.

Common Causes

  • Expected position pulses not received within the defined timeframe.
  • Encoder disconnected or damaged.
  • Motor moved unexpectedly without command.
  • High vibration or shock affecting position feedback.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Correct the number of position pulses in the relevant parameter so that its value is within 13100.

  2. 2

If using a separate detector with fine resolution where the pulse count still exceeds 13100, utilize the position feedback pulse conversion coefficient.

  3. 3

Select a conversion coefficient B such that A (the number of position feedback pulses set in the parameter) is less than or equal to 32767.

  4. 4

Set parameter A for the number of position feedback pulses and parameter B (2628 or 2185 for Series 16/15 respectively) for the conversion coefficient.
